Description: This course introduces data analytics concepts and techniques that focus on people within an organization. The content will focus on analyzing, understanding, and interpreting the people-centric data used for decision making in a variety of business settings. The course will also examine analytics tools and decision making scenarios that are likely to be encountered when working with people-focused data. Application examples include data analytics related to employee turnover and recruiting, among other techniques and topics. Storytelling, using advanced presentation and data visualization, will be incorporated. Contemporary data analytics tools and techniques will be utilized. Issues related to privacy, confirmation and algorithmic bias, as well as social impact, the responsible and ethical use of data and technologies will also be imbedded throughout the course. Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in QMTH 205 and MGMT 321 or permission of the instructor. All MGMT courses above 299 have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.00, and a grade of C- or better in HMXP 102 or HXCT 301.
