This course covers the basics of dinosaur taxonomy, biogeography, and evolution, along with the phenomenon of mass extinctions. The Age of Dinosaurs spanned over 160 million years. In that time, dinosaurs evolved to fill many ecological niches and thrived across every continent. The evolutionary story of dinosaurs is tightly intertwined with that of our own ancient ancestors. In this class, we'll explore how the Age of Dinosaurs began with, endured, and was ended by global cataclysms. We will also consider the latest developments in the study of dinosaurs and the many ways that past extinction events shape our modern world.
