Spanish for Educators will focus on developing beginning-level communication skills in Spanish so our future educators will be able to engage with Spanish-speaking students, parents, guardians, and family members. Emphasis is on basic communication skills in Spanish associated with real-life situations, the classroom environment, student praise and encouragement, school personnel, and school terminology. Students in this course will delve into a wide range of vocabulary encompassing all aspects of a student's academic journey. Students will be exposed to basic vocabulary and grammatical structures in Spanish within the context of the educational setting. Through immersive and communicative activities, students will develop proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in Spanish at the novice-level (or above) as established by the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
