• Accepts Transfers:
  Yes, SC State University accepts transfer students.
• Transfer Applications Received:
  SC State University receives approximately 1068 transfer applications each year.
• Transfer Applications Accepted:
  SC State University offers admission to approximately 650 of those students, coming from community colleges and four-year institutions.
• Percentage Accepted:
  Sixty percent of transfer students who apply for admission to the University are accepted.
• Transfer Applicants Enrolled:
  Over seventy percent of transfer students offered admission to the University enroll annually.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  A minimum 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent of a “C” on the other scales.
• Official Transcripts:
  Submit official transcripts from all post secondary institutions attended and a final official transcript for all coursework in progress up until the time of enrollment at SC State University.
• SAT Scores:
  Submit High School transcript and official SAT/ACT Scores if less than 30 semester hours college-level work have been obtained in a regionally accredited college or university.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Not required
• Essay:
  SC State University does not require an essay or personal statement for Undergraduate applicants.
• Application Fee:
  A Non-Refundable Application Fee of $25.00. Both Electronic and Paper applications are accepted.
• Interview:
  SC State University does not require an interview for Undergraduate applicants but strongly encourage campus visits for all applicants.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  "C", "B" & "A" grades only are transferable to the University for college level work, 101 level course work or higher. The University does not accept remedial or developmental course work.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  Transfer students must earn at least 30 semester hours in residence at South Carolina State University to earn a degree.
