The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer. Other factors to consider are grades received in the courses, the year in which the course was taken, and the major pursued after transfer. In all instances, final decisions about acceptance of course credit will be made by Winthrop University.

If you complete the following at Lander University:

  • Designed to teach the elements of good swimming, including sound stroke mechanics for the front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Basic water safety skills and knowledge to make a person reasonably safe while in, on, or around the water are also taught. Performance tests and knowledge tests are used to evaluate the student's progress. One semester hour.

  • Basic safety skills and swimming stroke skills are taught in accordance with the specifications of the American Red Cross courses. Notes: Lab Fee: $20. Offered in fall and spring.
