Description:
This is a project-based class that provides a fundamental background into design and development considerations for computer games. It covers topics such as the different types of computer games, common game architectures, the components typically involved in game programming, as well as overviews of the role of narrative and marketing of games. Students will be introduced to high-level overviews of concepts such as game physics engines, the basics of computer graphics, event-driven programming, as well as interaction methods and models for users input. Students will program simple games using existing game frameworks. Prerequisites: C- or better in CSCI 207.
