This course consists of two major parts. The first part focuses on the development of the U.S.-Chinese relations in the past century. The second part surveys major topics on China's foreign policy. We also discuss basic theories and methods of foreign policy analysis. Finally students may use the knowledge to conduct independent research on a topic on Chinese foreign policy or U.S.-Chinese relations.
