This course examines the theory and practices related to human rights in contemporary global politics. Topics include the structure of international systems as they pertain to the recognition and protection of human rights; the primary actors within these systems; conflict and other threats to human rights provisions; and the respective roles played by international institutions, law, and policy with respect to human rights. Preq: Sophomore standing.
