This course examines the history of graphic design and visual communications from ancient times to the present, with an emphasis on graphic design ideas/thinking, theories, aesthetics, and movements. Students examine the history of the visual form and message as well as the impact of graphic design on the cultural, social, political, and economic life, both past and present.
