This course distinguishes between forms of communication that have constitutional protections and those which have limits (libel, privacy, copyright, intellectual property, censorship, commercial speech, broadcast licensing, access to information) on freedom of expression. etc.) . Includes legal and ethical issues impacting professions encompassing journalism, marketing, public relations, integrated marketing communication and mass communication. Notes: Students may not get credit for MCOM 415 and MCOM 310, or for MCOM 415 and MCOM 412.
