(2)(Prereq: Completion of CHEM 332/CHEM 332L)(Coreq: CHEM 372L) Course focuses on providing students with an environment similar to graduate school. Students will engage directly with the primary literature in the field of organometallics, have weekly group meetings, and give oral presentations covering both 'classic' and 'current' journal articles. Organometallic concepts such as the 18-electron rule, metal oxidation states, Lewis acid-base chemistry, ligand and reaction types, mechanisms and catalytic cycles will be covered and related to both the literature and work occurring in the laboratory portion of this course. Lecture meets twice per week. S, odd years.
