Description:
Cooperative learning groups, student-centered activities, manipulatives, and concrete models are used to develop a deeper understanding of fractions; discuss basic ideas about algebra and measurement; and investigate two- and three-dimensional geometry paying particular attention to the concepts of area, surface area, and volume. Selected topics in data analysis are introduced with a hands-on approach to learning. Content, according to State standards, is taught with an appropriate methodology for teaching K-3. Preq: MATH 1150 and Early Childhood Education major.
