BIOL 8230 - Modern Macroevolutionary Mthds

Institution:
Clemson University
Subject:
Biology
Description:
This course exposes students to the statistical methods used for studying evolution over deep time. Simulations in the R statistical software are used for an in-depth exploration of the fundamental evolutionary models used to describe both phenotypic evolution and lineage diversification. Best-practices for implementing these models using phylogenetic comparative methods are identified by investigating known issues and potential solutions.
