Students are introduced to principles, tools, and models for analyzing, engineering, and managing manufacturing and service operations. The course focuses on the application of project management methods, value stream mapping, line balancing, and queueing theory for manufacturing and service industries. Emphasis is also given to discreteevent simulation models of operational dynamics, including analysis of cycle time, throughput, and inventory.
