SPAN 383 serves as an introductory course to the study of Spanish from a linguistics perspective. In this course, we will survey essential topics in the study of Spanish with a view toward providing you with an overview of the approaches, methods, and goals of linguistics. The goal of this course is to provide you with the evidence and the analytical methods by which you can critically evaluate your own and other people's opinions about the Spanish language.
