Contact Improvisation (CI) is an improvised dance form which focuses on the sensing and sharing of weight and support, and the physics of gravity and momentum, which is communicated through a contact point during improvised play. The course provides an introduction to the underlying principles of contact improvisation to develop the performer's sense of presence, sensory awareness, somatic intelligence, and ability to sense and respond to stimuli in organic and immediate ways.
