The content of this course consists of an introduction to the design of structural elements found in steel buildings, in particular, the design of steel tension members, beams, columns, beam-columns, and connections. Emphasizes the AISC-LRFD Specifications for steel design, though reference is made to the ASD Specification with comparisons made where appropriate. (Prerequisite: CE 3 I 9).
