(3) This course provides a critical overview of concepts and best practices surrounding social media, historically and within new media and digital culture. Topics addressed will include new research on attention and cognition within digital culture, perceptions and skills necessary for critical consumption of information, best practices of digital participation and collective participatory culture, and the use of collaborative media and methodologies within networked environments.
