(3 credits)(Prereq: a grade of 'C' or better in MSCI*302/L or BIOL*350L)(Coreq: MSCI*464L) This course explores the application of phylogenetic and population genetics techniques to marine ecological and biological questions such as taxonomy and identification, species discovery, cryptogenic species origins, invasion pathways, population connectivity, and conservation through examination of case studies in the marine environment and hands on practice of these techniques using student-generated and published data sets.
