(3-6 credits)(Restricted to MCES Majors)(Prereq: A grade of 'B' or better in both lecture and lab for two of these four lecture/lab pairs - MSCI*301/L, MSCI*302/L, MSCI*304/L, MSCI*305/L; or MCES*305/L and MCES*422/L, or permission of instructor. A contract must be approved by the instructor and deparment chair by the time of registration.) Each student plans and executes an original research project with guidance and supervision of a marine science faculty member. Results are presented in written and oral form. Senior thesis is strongly suggested for students intending to pursue graduate studies.
