Quantitative Ethnography is a methodological approach that uses ethnographic/qualitative techniques to guide statistical analyses of Big Data in meaningful ways and uses statistical techniques to increase the scope and power of current ethnographic/qualitative methods. Theoretical foundations and application of quantitative ethnography to discourse data are explored with emphasis on new insights in the field of cognitive modeling and automated coding and applications in a variety of fields.
