Covers the basic concepts of atomic and nuclear physics in modern nuclear medicine; instrumentation used in the measurement of the interaction of non-ionizing and ionizing radiation with biological matter; basic components and characterization of nuclear medical imaging devices; and medical physics dosimetry protocols and radiation protection. Preq: PHYS 8410 and PHYS 9510 or consent of instructor.
