Description:
In the first part of the course, students study a particular philosophical topic in depth. (topics vary, but are typically within value theory or social/political philosophy, broadly conceived), as well as develop essential research skills. In the second part of the course, students write a high-quality research paper, drafting and revising in response to feedback from peers and then instructor. Students are advised to take this course in their final two semesters. Preq: Senior standing in Philosophy.
