Health and Risk Assessment for Genetic Counseling Assistants:This course will introduce physical assessment and health history of infants, children, adults, and geriatric clients. The students will gain hands-on experience in developing physical assessment skills and assessing health history by integrating underlying concepts of development, communication, and health promotion. Students will demonstrate collection of accurate and relevant family history, constructing pedigrees, and identifying modes of inheritance by way of virtual or simulation clinical laboratories.
