(3 credits) This course focuses on the impact of capitalism on gender relations throughout the world, from the 16th century to the present. This seminar style course may explore the foundationional theories of gender and political economy. Students may study how the transition from feudalism to capitalism led to differing concepts of men and women's work and may engage with the historigraphy of gender, labor, and the rise of global capitalism.
