Description: This course will explore the history of the ancient Mediterranean world that Alexander was born into including an examination of Greek, Persian, Egyptian, Phoenician, and Hebrew cultures in Antiquity. The confluence of these cultures, culminating with Alexander the Great's empire, would set the stage for the balance of power in the Mediterranean for centuries to come. Prerequisite: Prerequisite for all 300 and 500 level courses in History: Sophomore status or permission of the Department Chair; or graduate status. Notes: Offered periodically.
