Description: The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the multiple components of the eSports industry. All major segments of the industry will be covered, giving the student a strong orientation to the overall industry. Major concepts to be studied will include a background of the industry, history, business aspects for eSports management, various segments of the industry, and professional preparation for a career in the sport industry. Further, examination of the organization, management, and evaluation of eSports events. Specific emphasis will be placed upon the economic impact of eSports events, the event bidding process, the event planning process, event logistics, event evaluation, marketing, and risk management policies and procedures. Notes: Offered in fall, spring, and summer.
