(Prereq: Grade of C or better in BIOL A370) Restoration ecology is the scientific study of the reestablishment of structure and function in disturbed ecosystems through human intervention. This course reviews topics and goals in restoration ecology, the causes and consequences of anthropogenic disturbance to the environment, and the difficulties with restoring damaged ecosystems. Information will be presented through lecture and discussion of journal papers on specific topics. Three lecture hours per week.
