Consideration is given to the uses of technology, the development of new technologies, and cultural represenations of technology. What role have underrepresented groups played in the development of technology? How has technological change affected the roles of women and ideas about gender? How does technology offer possibilities for new social relations and how should we evaluate these possibilities?
