Populism is the idea that "the people" have had their rightful sovereignty stolen by "the elite." This course examines causes and effects of populism across the globe. Focus is placed on how inherent tensions in the global liberal democratic order drive populist attitudes and conditions under which populist movements arise. Preq: Sophomore standing.
