Description: This course will combine social science field research methods and the study of government, politics, economics, and culture in Kenya. Students will be introduced to the main field research methods in the Social and Political Sciences, both qualitative and quantitative, including focus groups, interviews, survey research methods, and field experimental methods. Students will also experience designing a field research project from start to finish, including human subjects review, interview techniques, coding, questionnaire designs, measurements, data management, and data analysis. The actual fieldwork is typically in May. Notes: Offered periodically. Cross-listed with PLSC 475.
