Description: The course content focuses on the historical and current issues related to the recognition and education of giftedness. Critical issues facing the field of gifted education as well as future directions are explored. The identification of giftedness is included. Notes: Educators must complete an approved initial licensure program prior to receiving the add-on endorsement.This course may be applied to add-on endorsements in Gifted and Talented Education in South Carolina. This course may be applied to the add-on endorsements in Gifted and Talented Education once the initial licensure program is successfully completed. Offered in spring and summer.
