Description: Using the context of the internship experience, teacher candidates analyze competing conceptions of what it means to teach in a democratic society. Candidates explore the political, legal, and philosophical foundations of education to develop an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of the professional educator. Prerequisites: Completion of all core courses except EDCO 402 or EDUC 403. Admission to Teacher Education Program. Corequisite: EDCO 402 or EDUC 403. Notes: A grade of C or higher is required for Teacher Education majors/minors. This course cannot be taken for S/U credit. Formerly offered as EDUC 410. Offered in fall and spring.
