Description: Lecture and field-based course that explores the six strands of growth and development from preschool to adolescence. Significant time will be devoted to the application of these strands to working with students living in poverty. Topics include motivation, self-regulation, and families and communities. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in EDCO 101 or HDFS major. Notes: A grade of C or better is required for Teacher Education majors/minors. This course cannot be taken for S/U credit. Approximately 18 hours of field work will be completed for this course. Offered in fall, spring, and summer. Course was formerly offered as EDUC 200H. Lab Fee: $75.
