This course will focus on critical thinking and the nursing process that addresses the specific needs of the hospitalized adult with medical and/or surgical disorder. The roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse will be explored. The student will apply knowledge gained through the Fundamentals, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology course to the care of patients in the health care setting that promotes maintenance, promotion, and restoration of physiologi- cal/psychosocial function. The student will use an interprofessional approach to care incorporating principles of caring. This course uses knowledge gained in pathophysiology and pharmacology to address the nursing care of patients.
