This course is the study of films as mirrors of Hispanic societies. Topics include the comparative analysis of film and literature, film as propaganda, film as blockbuster, and the cinematic depiction of social, cultural, and historical realities of Hispanic nations. This course may be repeated for additional credit as the topic changes. Prerequisite: SPAN 305 or permission of instructor. Three credit hours.
