Topics include genome structure and organization (both nuclear and organellar); regulation of gene expression and its role in cellular and whole-plant processes; transposable genetic elements; applications for biotechnology. Preq: Junior standing; and GEN 3020; and either BIOL 3040 or BIOL 3050.
