Survey of modern spectroscopic techniques used in the determination of molecular structure. Emphasizes the interpretation of spectra: nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet, infrared, mass spectroscopy, optical rotatory dispersion, and circular dichroism. Students are expected to have completed one year each of organic chemistry and physical chemistry. Preq: Graduate standing.
