Analysis of heat, mass and momentum transfer; derivation and application of the governing equations; solution of steady and unsteady-state multidimensional problems in fluid flow, heat transfer and mass transfer. Students are expected to have completed undergraduate chemical engineering courses covering mass and energy balances; fluid mechanics; heat transfer; and mass transfer; and one undergraduate chemical engineering laboratory course covering fluid flow and heat transfer prior to registering for this course.
