Description:
Course for beginners in which fundamentals are taught and a foundation is provided for further study and the eventual ability to read and speak the language. The Japanese writing system is introduced. Students learn how to recognize and write the two alphabets Hiragana and Katakana. Three hours a week of classroom instruction and one hour a week in the language laboratory. Coreq: JAPN 1011.
