(Prereq: SPAN A316 or A317, or by placement) Reading, discussion, and study in all literary genres of selected representative works of Latin American writers, beginning from the pre-Columbia period up to the late nineteenth century. Special emphasis will be given to the development of critical skills for literary analysis. (Satisfies the Non-Western world studies and the General Education Humanities Requirements.)
