Methods and procedures of science for interpretation of the earth. The natural processes and their products - the minerals, rocks, fossils, structure and surface forms of the earth are considered. Emphasis is placed on the interplay between hypothesis, experiment, and observable fact which characterize productive physical science. Three class and three laboratory hours per week. Corequisite: GEOL U101.
