An examination of the movement for gay, lesbian and bisexual rights in the United States. Course material will include the emergence and evolution of gay and lesbian rights organizations over the past half century, their role as interest groups and an analysis of their impact on and place in American politics. The course will also include a discussion of the emerging and related struggle for transgender rights.
