Description: LGST 300 is an introduction to legal studies from a multidisciplinary perspective, exploring historical or contemporary aspects of the content, operations, and effects of law in society. This course provides a background in the American legal system with emphasis on values, terminology, and legal analysis. Case studies or interpretive themes will then provide analytical focus to this foundation. Because it is taught by different people from various professional and academic backgrounds, LGST 300 includes a dynamic mix of content and issues broadly related to studying the purpose and functions of law in society. Prerequisite: WRIT 101. Notes: This course is required for those students who intend to complete a minor in Legal Studies.
