Practical and theoretical overview of the impact of Web 2.0 technologies on newswriting and reporting. Topics include: creating and integrating new media tools such as blogs; wikis; social bookmarking; mapping and satellite tools; podcasts; screencasts; and social networks such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter into their multimedia news reports. Prerequisite: ENGL U102 or consent of instructor.
