An introduction to foundational writing research and writing theory relevant to the development of literacy. Through the study of concepts such as process, language, identity, and agency, writing students and future writing teachers develop a reflective and socially responsible view of writing. Note: Either ENGL 310: Theories of Teaching Writing or ENGL 316: Writing and Literacy, will be offered each spring semester.
