This course is an overview of issues pertaining to health administration in the public sector. This course will examine organization and management within public health settings including system structure, financing, roles and functions, as well as system influences, leadership, communication, organization behavior, team development, evaluation, productivity, information management, and performance improvement. It will provide an introduction to policy issues in healthcare regarding state and federal roles, the policy process and an exploration of American political processes as they influence health policy.
