Description:
Basic physics principles of Newtonian mechanics, special and general relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic structure, thermal physics, optics, and radiation physics are qualitatively and quantitatively presented. These principles are then applied to demonstrate their usefulness in understanding fundamental astrophysical objects and processes in the cosmos. Preq: MTHS 1050 or equivalent.
