(Prereq: PSYC A101 with a grade of C or better) An examination of classical and instrumental (operant) conditioning principles within classic and contemporary theoretical frameworks. Concepts such as habituation, reinforcement, punishment, aversive learning, extinction, memory, and biological constraints on learning will be addressed. The research focus will be on animal learning experiments, with relevance to the analysis of human behavior illustrated.
