(Prereq: MUSC A296 with grade of C or better) A continuation of and expansion on the techniques and materials presented in MUSC A296. Written and analytical applications of extended chords, shifting keys, expanded tonality, Impressionism, pan-diatonicism, set theory, twelve tone technique, total serialization, and aleatory music. Development of sight singing and ear training skills relative to course content. Application of functional keyboard skills and orchestration appropriate to level of study. Computer-assisted instruction.
